John Sedgwick [John Sedgwick / Ruth Clarke]
In the 1841 census John 'Seedwick' is an agricultural labourer living in Lidlington. John and Charlotte arrived in Australia on the ship Emporer in about 1848. On John's death certificate it names 5 living children - Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Ruth, John and William - and 1 male and 5 females deceased. It also states that his father was John Sedgwick labourer and his mother unknown. Could this be evidence that his father remarried and his first wife never mentioned? |
