UK Sedgwicks - Places - Yorkshire
William Sedgwicke (abt 1579 - 1632)

William and Stephen Sedgwick were probably born in Ingleton, Yorkshire and judging by their situation and connections would have been born into a wealthy family.

Church records are not available for this period so it is to wills and property records that we must look. At this stage it seems very likely that several of the important separate groups are connected but deffinitive proof is needed.

The will of James Sedgwick of Sedbergh contains the names of many Sedgwicks alive in 1593 but it doesn't give their relationship to him or each other. Was this an extended family or the first Sedgwick one-name researcher? A full transcript will appear here soon but in the interim this page will contain as many of the important names and places as possible.
