b. circa 1816 probably Yorkshire m. Harriet Mears 1838 (BMD) d. 20 March 1860 (BMD) John was a china merchant in 1841 and a licensed victualler by the time he died in 1860. For some reason The Londonderry Arms seems to have been omitted from the 1851 census - can anyone find it? John and Harriet were married in the Northallerton district but no clues yet to his origins. Harriett remarried to John Pyle in 1861. |
