Robert Sidgwick [Michael Sedgwick / Mary Cook]
Almost the entire family are working as coal miners in 1851. Robert is described as a joiner in 1861, 1871 and 1881. At George's baptism in 1830 he was described as a shipwright. His descendant George Sidgwick has the family bible which includes the dates of birth of his children and those of his son Thomas. The eldest son George emigrated to Australia where his descendants still live. Son Matthew's children were born in Australia but he had returned to England by 1881. |
