William Sedgwick (born circa 1816)

William Sedgwick [Unknown Sedgwick]
b circa 1816 Durham
m Mary Singlewood 1847 (BMD)
d 22 June 1859

William was a stoneworker who was killed at Willington Colliery. His son William was also tragically killed in a gruesome accident. Details can be found at the Durham Mining Museum website.

The 1861 census has Mary's name as Ann - a mistranscription I am sure as Mary nee Singlewood married Moses Merryweather in 1865 and daughter Elizabeth J is living with the couple.
