John Sedgwick of Rickmansworth (born circa 1725)

John Sedgwick [Unknown Sedgwick]
b. circa 1725
m Alice Bannister 1751
d 1782

It is likely that John originates from Chalfont St Peter as his brother and sister both had connections with the parish. It is therefore likely that he is the son of John Sedgwick and Anna Walcop who married there in 1717. He married in Chesham Bois.

Whilst John is the first Sedgwick having his family baptised in Rickmansworth, there are possible additional family members in the records. A William Sedgwick was buried in 1814 aged 72 and an Eliza Sudwick apparently married in 1760.

One of John's descendants is described as 'armiger' and this group may therefore be related to Edward Sedgwick's family. We do know that members of this family used the crest above.
