| John Sedgwick [William Sedgwick / Margaret Whittle] b. 27 February 1804 Wigan, Lancashire m Ellen Oliver 1826 d. after 1851 In the 1851 census John was a widowed rail policeman. Son John was a collier in 1851 and whilst he gives his year of birth as 1829 or 1831 in later census returns, he is always a coal miner. He could also be the son of William and Nancy Sedgwick. |
