Matthew William Sedgwick
[Unknown] The 1851 census doesn't list a profession for Matthew. In 1861 and 1871 Sarah is described as a widow living with her mother Mary Barnbrook. In 1881 a Sarah A Sedgwick is living in Grays Inn Lane - almost deffinitely the same person. Matthew's marriage certificate shows his father as William Sedgwick - a compositor. This would seem to rule out him being the son of John Sedgwick baptised in 1820 as John was a merchant. |
