John Sedgwick [Unknown Sedgwick] The couples marriage has finally been found - John's surname was given as Chiswick In the 1861 census John and his wife are living in Ealing - John described as a gas works labourer aged 23. The eldest child was 14 so John's age must be wrong! In 1871 John's age is given as 47 and all the family's birthplaces as Old Brentford. His son William is a hawker lodging in Brentford. Daughter Betsy is called Mary Ann in the 1861 census - she is living with uncle William Sedgwick in Chelsea in 1871. By 1881 only Jane still lives with her parents. |
