Andrew Sedgwick [Andrew Sedgwick / Elizabeth West]
Andrew was a labourer. The Andrew Sedgwick who married Elizabeth West in Staines in 1786 is likely to be his father. Son Andrew is baptised as the son of Andrew and Anne - surely an error? Is this the same Edward Sedgewick in trouble with the police - he is committed for trial at Newgate in 1842. Details here. Is Sarah the individual in Staines Workhouse in 1851? There are two baptisms for James son of Andrew and no corresponding burial of the first son. The James who married in 1839 gave his age as 22. The younger James was a night watchman in 1871 and 1881 and a policeman in 1851 and 1861. |
