Robert Sedgwick [William Sedgwick / Alice Smith] There are two possible baptisms for Robert - he is linked here to William and Alice because of a family link to St Alkmund, Derbyshire shared with his brother Thomas Sedgwick,clockmaker, b 1795 and his son Thomas Sedgwick, clockmaker. The alternative baptism is to a James Sedgwick and Elizabeth Collier. Robert was a tailor. In 1861 and 1871 he is living in Rugeley, Staffordshire. In 1861 an Alice Sedgwick born in Manchester is living with the family - I believe that this is Alice daughter of Thomas and Caroline ie grandaughter rather than daughter. Esther Sedgwick can be found working as a servant in 1861. |
