John Sedgwick [William Sedgwick / Hannah Unknown] Could John be the son of William and Hannah Sedgwick baptised in Shepperton? In the 1841 census Sophia is living in Moulsey with four children and states that she was born outside the county. It is likely that John senior and William are living in Petersham. Despite being described as a labourer, John makes a will in 1843 which refers to plate and monies - could this hint at wealthier origins? His wife and eldest son were executors of the will. Wife Sophia died in 1874. I haven't yet found Sophia in the 1861 census. |
