Thomas was a clock maker by profession. In 1861 he is living in Salford, in Birmingham in 1871 and St Alkmund in 1881. Thomas' widow Caroline is living in Radford, Nottinghamshire in 1891 and 1901.

Grandson Samuel is shown as Alice's son pending deffinitive proof of his parentage.
