Matthew Sedgwick [John Sedgwick / Agnes Burton] The 1841 census shows that Matthew was married twice. In 1851 Matthew is living with his father John in Dent with one of his children. He describes himself as a married labourer but Eleanor died in either 1841 or 1843. His other surviving children are working away from home. Iin 1861 he is in Liverpool working as a cow keeper. In 1871 the family are living in Everton. In 1881 Matthew is living with his son John and daughter Nanny in Dent. Three sons emigrated to Canada - more details shortly. |
