James Sidgwick of Leeds (1675 - 1765)

James Sidgwick [Leonard Sedgwick / Alice Unknown]
bpt. 10 June 1675 Dent, Yorkshire
m1 Unknown
m2 Grace Fleeman 1694
d 16 November 1765 Leeds

According to the Sidgwick pedigree compiled by Alexander Mitton, James was the founder of Castlefield Mills in Bingley which was the first to be powered by gas.

This page shows a possible alternative to the Mitton research. I suspect that there is a missing generation in his research and that James Sissick is the father of Grace, John and Mary. There is no baptism for a Mary at the right time in Leeds and without the 'extra' generation the family doesn't look right.
