James was a painter. In 1841 he is living in Guisborough apprenticed to John Bulmer.

In 1881 son Robert is lodging in Haswell, Durham and in 1891 is in Westgate, Northumberland - he was a mining engineer.

In 1901 Elizabeth is living with Teresa and her family in Coxlodge, Northumberland.

Son James Henry was an Oxford graduate described as 'sometime missionary in China'.
